Vicente Yáñez Fuenzalida
Vicente Yáñez is a Chilean artist and musician based in Berlin. His body of work ranges from music for contemporary dance, film and chamber music to sound installations, 3D virtual animated environments and Ambisonics. As a musician, he has produced/mixed/performed with renowned Chilean independent musicians and dancers over the last ten years, performing in Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Spain and Germany. He graduated from conservatory (Universidad de Chile) and currently pursues a Master in Arts (Sound Studies) at Universität der Künste Berlin. Recent projects are focused on spatial sound and virtual realities. Using these media he attempts to summon spaces that leave traces for individual/collective narratives to emerge. His interest in immersive media stems from questions posed around subjectivities, architecture and attentive listening.
His mixed-media pieces have been exhibited in venues such as Zwitschermaschine and Hošek Contemporary. His acousmatic repertoire of spatial sound pieces has been showcased at MONOM Funkhaus, the Church of St. Francis of Assisi Koper, and UdK Berlin, alongside fulldome projects presented at the Zeiss-Großplanetarium Berlin and the Cité des sciences et de l'industrie in Paris. These investigations have also been supported through residencies at international centers for arts and music, including EMS (Stockholm), PiNA/LeSerre (Koper/Udine), and NOTAM (Oslo) [funded by the European Union and the Goethe-Institut]. Parallel to his spatial and installation work, his studio output as a composer and music producer spans solo releases like the YZEN EP, alongside production credits on experimental projects including the Xatarra debut EP and I.O.’s Altar EP.
His debut E.P. ‘YZEN’ was released in August 2025 under the Chilean label 11:11 (@sello11_11).
